fbody 700r4 vs. other versions
is there a difference between f body versions or say 2wd pickups or caprice classics so on so forth. Mine is slipping at wot but doesn't through normal driving. I would like to have one to install to drive as my daily driver while I rebuild mine with shift kits and such. I just need to know if the versions are the same or if there is any differences between gear ratios and such. My car is a 91 LO3.

The V8 versions are all basically the same. The V6 version has fewer clutch plates(among other things). The '87 up stock versions have improvements/modifications to clear up weak points. The bellhousing pattern is one of the main differences with non-Chevrolet motor applications. You will probably have to use the tailshaft off your 700 if you use one out of something other than a F-Body.Have you tried adjusting the TV cable?

You will have to swap your tailhousing as mentioned and there may be some minor issues with bolting up the converter cover some have different bolt sizes. And many F bodies came out with corvette servos for second where the truck did not you may want to consider swaping this over from your f body.

I figured there were minor differences. Thanks.
I havn't adjusted tv cable but I'm pretty sure it's the transmission. My fluid is so black and burnt smelling as well. When I purchased it about 3 months ago I added the 2 quarts it was low but I don't think a fluid change will help 185k.
