Re: speedo problems with my t56 !!
If you have a stock T56 like out of a 93-97 car, then (1) there's no speedo gears to change, and (2) the only way to adjust the speedo without machine work to the extension housing is by way of an electronic "adapter box" because the T56 puts out something in the neighborhood of 40,000 pulses per mile (exact number depends on your rear gear) whereas your TPI computer is looking for 4,000 pulses per mile.

Use the Dakota digital SGI-5 signal conversion box. I have been using one now for awhile and its working well.

I depends. What year is you car and is it a Camaro or Firebird. If you have a electronic speedometer which it shoulds like you do then you need the dakota box. If you have a mechanical speedometer then you need the Abbott box. I have the Abbott box for mechanical speedometer for sale in the parts for sale section.

Buy it.
Hook it up.
Program it.
Not necessarily in that order... although the buying does have to come first.

There is no DRAC in a thirdgen, and even if there was, it wouldnt know what to do with a 40,000 pulse signal.

For mine, I just changed the parameters on the PROM so it reads the T56 vss. No need for the Dakota box.
