Hey, I am wondering if a transmission out of a v6 Camaro will work with a 350 engine. I am guessing not, but its worth asking. I appreciate any help.

That being said, the answer is no.You can use some parts from the different units together but as a whole it does not work well.

search is broken
pay attention to the post in yellow above about search feature being broken
the v-6 trans will not bolt to a 350 engine no
you need ot find a transmission from behind one of the following
a 200ci, 3.8L chevy rear wheel drive,
a 4.3L chevy
a v-8 any size chevy
a 305 or 351 v-6 gmc
or a straight six chevy any size,

You better get your facts correct.a 305 or 351 v-6 gmc

The bellhousings are different. I think you can just get a v8 bellhousing, but theres no way that trans can last long with a v8 instead.

305 V-6 engine:

how about you do some research before poking at someone who you falsely belive that you know more about something than
all i stated is that these were the regular chevy 90 degree bellhousing pattern and then you come back and reply with me needing to get my facts straight ???!!
wtf is that ?
thats BS !
i thought you were pretty cool up to just now, now i dont know what to think
im not going to argue with someone like you who doesnt even know what im talking about or what these engines were
look these engines up and learn something before telling me i dont know something that i know very well about and have for years and years
you obviosuly know very little about GM engine history
there are a billion engines out there that gm made that are chevy 90 degree bellhousing pattern in which im sure you have never heard of
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...let_V8_pattern
ppl are sure quick to point at someone or something and claim something is false, when it reality it is true, and then also interject their own info and beliefs which are false, based upon what they have ever seen or heard of, or in this case never heard of nor seen, and since they neverhave then it must not exist
thats a horrible mentality, i find it to be pretty sad.,
all i was trying to do here was help a guy out with patterns and a moderator- of all ppl- decides to call BS on a fact i have stated, when he has no idea at all about what im talking about
since the poster of this thread has all the correct info he needs ( he said that he has what he needs to know i feel no need to reply/carry on beyond this)

woa, buddy!!!
I am as alternative engine as it gets and I see where you are coming from, but...
There really is NO good choice of transmission from a GMC V6 that goes well into a third gen. I had a 305 V6 in a 68 GMC with a 3 speed on the column...
Did they even come automatic? Anyway, I understand what you are saying but try and let your emotions come down a bit. I get upset, too, but the best way to prove things to these guys is to DO IT. Don't be like me and do it without pictures!! hehehehe
Anyway, we all appreciate the passion (and the pictures) but just keep the tone a little more happy. If you need to do a shot of bourbon to get that done then so be it.
Works for me!

a 4.3 chevy? I found a blazer at the junkyard with a 4.3 with 5spd. Would this bolt to a 350?

It will bolt up but it will also have a smaller input shaft. 1 inch by 14 spline. No good for V8s...
