What should I do with this t-56?

Hey guys,

I have a t-56 core that I've recently acquired. I'm trying to decide what to do with it. I know it needs a rebuild, possibly an input shaft. I have the hydraulics, bell housing, and transmission from a 94-97 f-body. What is this stuff worth as it is? How much money do you think I would have in it to swap into a car thats been changed from an auto to a t-5? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

You'll have not trouble getting rid of it if you want, I'm sure. A t-56 can get very pricey if you have to start replacing parts, but it's still a great transmission and is worth fixing if you can do it for under a grand.

I see them on craigslist.com all the time for a grand or a little more. you've got some extra stuff which is worth a hundred or two, and you'll get a little more since it's fresh rebuilt, if you have the receipts. You'll have a hard time getting over 1500 though, I bet. I'm just guessing though.
