Who has had to remove the cover/case on the 700R4 that the speedometer cable is threaded to? My threaded portion snapped off and I need to remove the portion that is left while tranny is in car.

next..where do you get the new part?

thx

Here is what you are looking for, i would go to the dealer, its called speedometer gear housing. It has 1 bolt holding the housing in, then take out the plastic gearshaft out of your old housing it has a small o-ring and retainer clip and lubricate both new o-rings with atf and reinstall, if you have changed tire sizes and want your speedo correct now is the perfect time.

thanks!

I have all the parts I need on order and I have to remove the tail section of the transmission to get the busted housing out.
