Trans slipping?
I'm wondering if I have 4.11s in the rear. I'm at about 3000 rpms at about 80 mph. I have a 9 bolt with a tag that says 3.27 gears, and a 700R4 tranny. Using the calculator on this board, and others, with 225/60R16, I'd have to be running 4.11s to spin 3000 at 80. After 20-30 minutes of driving at this speed on the freeway, I can barely touch my dipstick, it's so hot! I'm gonna call Westside Transmission tomorrow, but if anyone knows what could be going on, you could save me some dough, and I'd really appriciate that!
The tranny was rebuilt about two years ago, and I used a B&M master rebuild kit. I have a TCI 2500 converter, and it's the original '88 700R4. I've posted here about sloppy shifts, and adjusting the TV cable and all previous problems still exist.
