Replacing 2.73 with 4.10, different carrier?
I picked up some 4.10 gears out of an ls1, and just realized that I may have a 2 series carrier with my stock 2.73?
Will these gears work for me?

You'll need a 3 series carrier. You do have a 2 series now with 2.73 gears.
I thought you were doing a Dana 60 or an 8.5"?

I am going to change the rear, but it might be two months until I can afford it. The stall is too high to drive with the stock gears, so I was going to swap them out in the meantime. I can use the gears in the v8 s10 then. I was also going to weld it posi.
Is there a cheap/easy way to change it from a 2-3?

Yea, you can just use a ring gear spacer.

Called up the shop today to get one, and he said he thought the 7.5s were funny and the spacer would screw up the alignment. Is this true?
The things arent too cheap either. I found some 3 series carriers on ebay for 10 bucks plus 14 shipping. Would this be a better route?
I do have 28 spline axles right? not the 26? Hopefully the s10 is also 28, so I can just swap all this stuff over.

You may want to recheck your carrier shims, but I doubt it's needed if re-using the stock carrier. You can use a dial indicator to check the backlash.
They should be pretty cheap, i'm thinking $50 or so. You can't get a GOOD carrier for under $400. If you're talking about swapping in a 3 series open carrier - what's the point?
Your car should have 28 splines, it was swapped in 1990 to 28 splines.

I can get a used factory carrier, I didnt think it would be so cheap. Turns out it'll cost less than a new spacer...
Thats right I remember they swapped them in '90.
Cool, so I should be set then. Hopefully the 88 s10 is 28 spline.
thanks guy.
