Re: won't go into park
check the linkage under the car on the tranny. I had a problem like this a LONG time ago and it was 2 loose bolts or something IIRC. It was over 12 years so my memory is a little bad. also look inside the console and see if something is jammed inthere stopping the shifter from going into park. These are the FREE things you can do before it goes to a shop. if you cant find the problem then dont worry. if it shifts fine then just put it in N when its off and use the E brake. Run it like that until it gets worse and then go from there

Re: won't go into park
My cable had broke so I bought a new one & replaced it. Once I I got it in it wouldn't go into park. The cable has a rubber type ring on it that mounts onto a metal plate on the left of the shifter & that piece was not pushed all the way in. Once I fixed that it went into park just fine.
