so my buddy told me about this website that has 700r4s for 500 bucks... anyone ever delt with these guys before? its www.goodfellastransmission.com i have a small block putting out about 300 horse nothing crazy so i was gonna go with the cheapest one, says it will handle 400 horse... and what kinda converter should i go with? i have an edelbrock performer cam and i want a pretty hard launch...

best thing i could tell you is to not buy a 700r4......get a th350.....lots cheaper..lots better trans......with a core i know a trans shop that will trade a rebuilt for like $250......just make sure when u go to mount the torque arm to get it welded or bolted to the trans crossmember

No advertisement but if it sounds to good to be true it probably is, Use your own judgement, We have special now at 1175 on our level one and honestly with shipping we are cut to the bone.
And of note a well built 700 can be a monster, No ad fo them either.

There is a thread about them in the aftermarket vendor forum. It seems that they are the same guys that used to be maddog lou transmissions.
I wouldnt touch them with a ten foot pole.
