700R4 WONT MOVE
i HAVE A 92 CAMARO RS AND PUT A 350 IN PLACE OF THE 305 LEFT IT TBI. i PUT THE TRANNY THAT I BOUGHT WITH THE CAR IN IT ( NOT KNOWING IF IT WORKED IN THE FIRST PLACE) STARTED IT AND PUT IT IN GEAR. IT DOES NOTHING UNTIL IT STARTS TO BOG DOWN THEN IT JERKS JUST SLIGHTLY. i KNOW I NEED A SHIFTER CABLE CUZ IT IS BROKEN AND WONT LET IT GO INTO PARK BUT BESIDES THAT IT SHOOULD STILL MOVE FORWARDS OR BACKWARDS. ANY IDEAS??? SOMETHING i DIDN'T HOOK UP? GET ANOTHER TRANNY?

1st off turn caps lock off please. Next is there any whining noises. X2 on APERION's question. Veryfy the shifter engagement without it running and an assistant.

Yes, the converter should have had ATF poured into it before installation.

If you have started the car the pump should have filled the converter almost instantly , Im betting more than likle the pump is broken . before you go pulling the unit disconnect a line and start the car if no fluild comes out rapidly then the pump is broken.

- if the pump didn't fill the converter, it isn't doing it's job. I usually dump about 1 qrt in the converter, but several companies say it's not really required. I feel that lock-up style converters should have the lock-up clutch "wet" before initial start-up. The rest of the system won't care.Did you check the fluid level with the engine running? You said you filled it, but if the cooler nor the tc was full and the motor was off, then it's not full.
Also, if the pan was damaged (floor jack?) or smacked excessively (dropped?) while it was out of the car, the filter/pick-up could be damaged resulting in a loss of fluid to the pump.
