Has This Happened to You?
I have a stock 87 IROC with the 305 V8, 700R4 automatic and cruise control.
I had the car out on the freeway with the cruise control set at 65. After about an hour I noticed that the indicated speed was increasing on the speedometer while the actual speed remained constant. This continued steadily until the speed indicated was just over 130 miles per hour at which point the needle began to fluctuate between 120 and 130. At that point the cruise control kicked off for just a second and then resumed and the speedometer dropped back to 65. Both the speedometer and the cruise control operated normally for the remainder of the trip. I've never heard of that one before. Does anyone know what might be at fault?

Re: Has This Happened to You?
By the speedometer head are you talking about the gauge itself ?
