83 700r4...would it be bad if
Would it be bad if nothing was plugged in to my 83 700r4? Would it just not lockup or would it burn its self out?
I know the TV has to be hooked up and its vital that it be set right. But does no lockup plug matter?
Im putting an aftermarket cam and intake/carb on. Removed all smog stuff and am putting a normal non CC dist in. The ECM is gona be all freaked out and im guessing its not going to know what to do about the lockup.

From what Ive been told, 83' & 84' 700R4's will overheat if TCC isnt

X3, if you wish to remove the ECM then you must get one of the converter lockup boxes from B&M or other companies.

1983 was the 1st year that GM put the 700r4 in the F-Body. If you can, this is
just a suggestion, try to find a late 87-up V-8 700 for your T/A. You should be able to pick one up(that actually works!!!!!) anywhere from $100-250.00 for a
stock one with converter. I just picked one up for my 86' T/A. I think I saw a
couple of threads for later model 700's( in CT!!!!!!!) for no more than $200.00.
I believe they were in the Engine & Drivetrain Parts for sale forum. Type in search for 700r4. If it's in your budget I'd go that route.
