i have th350 that was working fine. till the other day when i was driving around it made a pop (i was not on the car) and started acting funny like didnt want to go. come to find out no 2nd gear. i have third it work fine and first. what caused it to lose 2nd gear?

 

Sounds like you blew up your intermediate sprag. Common failure in the TH350. Pull the pan and see how many hard parts are in it.

 

if so do i have to rebuild to fix and if so where can i get a kit from?

 

Tranny needs to come out and taken apart. You'll need a new intermediate sprag (over-running clutch), pump gasket/seals, filter gasket. Depending how bad the damage is, you may need a new direct clutch drum. Yank the tranny out and strip it down to see how bad the damage is. A blow sprag is one of the weakest links in a TH350. They can be upgraded to a heavy duty unit but they're not cheap and can still fail.

 

Now thats just too funny! But not to poke fun at you buddy. I have had numerous pan fishing experiences too. My recent is the 700R4s 2-4 Band which I am in process of a rebuild as result. My post '700R4 Blues =( ' show some pics. It sux, but the best advice is to research what breaks in that tranny, pull it and verify the broken part, and put the updated or HD part back in it. Good time to just HD the entire unit.
