Brass
I just pulled the pan on my transmission to install the transgo kit.
Trans is recently rebuilt 700 with about 10,000 miles on it. It has never slipped or shown any abnormal shifting patterns in the entire time that I have owned it.
The problem:
There were a few brass shavings in the pan. Not a lot, but seeing any metal at all makes me nervous. The fluid was clean.
I understand brass shavings would be from a shim or a bushing. What are the likely culprets and should I be nervous? AFAIK the transmission has never had the filter changed since it was rebuilt.
