Help with brass fittings?

I am trying to hook up a NOS setup with brass fittings.

I need to connect 2 brass lines with a T to split the initial nitrous flow.

Anyway.. i have to cut the brass pipe to length, and I have these rings that fit around the pipe that I am supposed to attatch to the brass pipe where I want to end it so I can put the thread on it. I have no idea how to connect these "rings" to the pipe.. does anyone with any knowledge of this kind of stuff know?

thanks.

Im taking a guess here... but is there a ring, and then you have a part that has a threaded end, and something that looks like a nut? Well if thats it, then the ring goes inside the nut, and you screw that on one end of the threaded deal. The brass line will fit inside the nut, and then you tighten the nut down. Its called a compression fitting. Im not sure if thats what it is, but it sounds like it. Cant imagine a NOS system using that though, compression fittings arent the most reliable things on the face of the planet.
