anyone having problems with 2 nd and 3rd in there t56 ... mine keeps poping out under normal driving conditions i dont rag my car out or anything sometimes it goes good and sometimes it just keeps falling out i have a b&m short throw shifter and the only thing i can figure is i am goin to have to replace the sychro's ... anyone have any input ... it worked fine up until now ...

 

Does your B&M shifter have shift stops? I think some models did and some didn't. Anyway, if it has they are you sure they are adjusted right? If they are not set right it could cause the tranny to jump out of gear.

When I put in my Hurst shifter I did not set the stops right and they was exactly what happened until I adjusted it. If your shifter has the stops you may as well just back them all they way out since the T56 has internal stops.

Inside the tranny there is a plate with pits and a ball bearing with a spring that I believe holds it in gear. If it is jumping out the spring may be worn out. Just a guess.
