crazy vibration
Howdy guys. This has happened since I bought the car. It has an aftermarket clutch in it (fairly new) if I dont slip it enough that thing will shake its *** off pulling from a stop at a slow speed. Dash shakes and all. if I launch it it doesnt do anything. smoothe as butter. but if I drive it like say my moms toyota. (very light on the clutch) I get that nasty shake. Ive been driving 5 speeds all my life and was wondering if its just due to the aftermarket clutch and me not giving it enough clutch? Is this clutch chatter? Thank you for your input.

If it has an aftermarket pressure plate and you don't ride the clutch, it will shake like that.
You will lose some driveability with performance clutch kits. Depending on the level: stage 1/2/3 ect.... They will perform better at the track, but are a pain to drive on the streets.

Re: crazy vibration
There are a bunch of things that can cause this. Being a '92 that eliminates the mechanical linkage being an issue. If the clutch was replaced while retaining the old flywheel that will also do it. As 1bad86z mentioned strip only clutches can do this. The lack of or a worn out pilot bushing can do it.
Best bet is to pull the trans and clutch and see what is in there. Sometimes it pays to bite the bullet and install all new: flywheel, pressure plate, pilot bushing, disk, and throwout bearing. Be sure to get a disk that has a marcel, IOW a street disk, or street/strip disk. And organic, not one with metal pucks.

Re: crazy vibration
ya it is a pain in traffic. Shifts up through all the gears fine and down, But like I said if I don't give it quite a bit of clutch from a stop it will do that. Thanks guys.
