Manual Valve Body
I'm considering installing a manual valve body in a 700R4. Anyone do this conversion? What are the pros and cons?

Re: Manual Valve Body
I'm thinking of doin the same to mine. The pro's and con's that i can think of are as fallows. Pros; no more TV cable adjustments, can run any shiftkit you want. Con's; no more auto feature, constantly shifting up or down in traffic, and who knows how long the 2/4-band will last.

there are many, many cons to using one in a street car. They are designed for race use, therefore they aren't designed for other use. Bottom line for a street car, if you simply must manual shift, put a manual trans in.
Do a search, this topic has been covered many times, which is probably why you're not getting much response.
as far as not having to set the TV cable that's not really a "pro". You only have to set the cable once, and it requires about the same amount of time as opening the hood. - True though, a manual vb will not have a TV cable, but this is another death when used on the street. They keep trans pressure at peak all the time thus causing premature pump failure and excessive heat while cruising around town.
