Clutch Pedal Will Not Depress Fully
Clutch Pedal Will Not Depress Fully
So just playing around in the car and push the clutch pedal down like I do once n a while playing race car driver and the pedal doesn't go down fully. It seems to stop right before it touches the neutral safety switch. I haven't slide under the car yet and probably won't today, but i did open the fluid reservoir and see that it was almost completely empty. So my question is, will air in the line cause my clutch pedal to not depress fully?
Thanks

No. Air in the line shouldn't prevent you from fully depressing the pedal.

Re: Clutch Pedal Will Not Depress Fully
Yes you definatly don't want to force them. I almost blew mine up when I first installed it. Pedal wouldn't move, I found out I had installed the clutch fork wrong.
Re: Clutch Pedal Will Not Depress Fully
I didn't just install it, this was the same one that was working perfectly fine for years and years. I disconnected it from the bellhousing and opened the bleeder valve and voila, the clutch went to the floor. So i decided to re bleed it and then a few pumps into it it just shot all the parts out. So now I have a new one insatlled but I have yet to bleed it. Doesn't matter if I bleed it with the pushrod on the clutch fork or just hanging freely does it? Reason I ask is because when I bled the original one it wasn't against the clutch fork and blew all the pieces out. I doubt thats the problem and it probably doesn't make a difference since I can clearly remmeber having it disconnected before and pressing the clutch in and out with no problems...but ya never know so that's why i'm askin.
