a feq quick driveshaft loop questions

did a search; didnt find exactly waht i was looking for tho:

im looking for a BOLT IN driveshaft safety loop.. i know lakewood makes one.. but is it really bolt in? bending required?

do you have to remove the driveshaft to install this? or can the driveshaft stay in place?

where do the bolts go thru the floor into? under the seats? center console?

i want it to be safe and preventative and will be installing it myself. i jsut want to mostly know if i gotta pul the driveshaft out. and how it actually mounts and wahts involved

any and all advice is appreciated

thank u

oh; and im running a hooker 3" cat back. with Alston subframe connectors (that go near the driveshaft) and a stock driveshaft and stock t.q. arm

Re: a feq quick driveshaft loop questions

different comapanies make different designs and so me allow the shaft to stay in place during installation. Your best bet to to talk to guys thathave them and see how they installed them. Some require the removal of the interior to drill holes through the floor, ya really sucky if you ask me. Shop around and look for one that uses existing holes under the car.

if you end u having to remove the DS to install it then dont worry, its nothing hard at all. it like removing a wheel. There is 4 bolts holding it to the yoke on the rearend. Just remove them and tap the DS lightly with a rubber mallet and it will break free and come out

Re: a feq quick driveshaft loop questions

If you buy a third gen specific driveshaft loop, it will be a basic bolt in with little to no modifications required. They bolt through the floor under the seats. They are always a multi piece item that doesn't require removing the driveshaft.

The third gen specific loop has the proper bends for the contour of the floor and to clear the torque arm. Generic loops need some fabrication work to get them to fit.

A better system is to buy an aftermarket torque arm that has the loop incorporated into the torque arm or tranny crossmember.
