th350 swap
Ok I made the swap from the 700r4 to the 5spd. not very hard. love to drive.
but now I want to put the th350 in for the track. I am looking for some advice for setting it up.
will the th350 bolt right in place of the of the t-5 and use the same drive shaft. I have read already that I need the kit from hurst or b&m for the t/a and the trans mount. but the driveshaft i was wondering.
Also I am using a b&m shifter it is a ratcheting type shifter. Does this require a special type cable for the trans? Do I have to call B&M or can i use a stock one?
also I have a shift kit for this trans. I am going to do a rebuild and get a 2400-3000 stall for it. is there anything else i can do to make this a better more reliable trans?
thanks for the input.

Re: th350 swap
Driveshaft for a 700R4, T5 and TH350 are all close enough to the same length that the same one can be used on all.
That's providing you use a long tailshaft TH350 with a 9" tailshaft. If you use a short 6" tailshaft TH350 you need a driveshaft from a 82-83 third gen that came with the 200c transmission.

Re: th350 swap
th350 from a 73 and up 2wd truck
and most station wagons(some in the mid 70s were 12" tail)
9" tailshaft
this trans is the length of the t-5 and 700-r4
a 9" tail th350 is simple to find, vs. an 82 83 200c driveshaft
my 82 was a 200c so i had to use a 6" tail car th350, however it is from a '77 G20 van,
vans used the 6" tail in most cases, but not always
i used the mount bracket that summit racing had, i only needed the big side mounting bracket since i was going from 200c,
so i didnt need the trans mount relocation bracket that they give you in the kit,
someone on here needed one so i sold it to them
700r4 to th350 requires using both brackets since 700r4 mount is located farther back about 1.5" or so than 200c/th350, etc
good luck
