4th gen rear gears
how can I find out what gear ratio is in a 1994 Firebird V6 with a posi, disc, rear end without looking at the axle?
can I get some sort of range?
P.S. this is third gen related because I want to put it under my car

If it matters to you what the ratio is, you'll look. If you're not willing to look, then it must not matter very much, and you'll just take whatever you get.

None of that changes anything about knowing what gears are inside there.
If it really matters to you, you'll quit making excuses, and figure out a way to look.

Not if it's the 3-channel kind. It's just a sensor sitting there with nothing hooked up to it. Harmless.
If it's the 4-channel kind though, there will be 2 separate hydraulic brake lines, since each wheeel is individually controlled. That would require a little plumbing to get to hook up to your brake system. But I don't think those had come out yet in 96, although I could easily be wrong.

It's probably at least 3.23. If it's a 5 speed manual car, there's a better than average chance it's 3.42.
