Pinion shaft chewed up

Pinion shaft chewed up
87 GTA, aussie 9 bolt rear-end. Pinion shaft bearing broke and car was driven with the shaft just bouncing around in the diff housing. Shaft is too chewed up now to take a new bearing.
Am having problems finding a replacement shaft. No one, but no one seems to have it. Junk yards will only sell me a used 10-bolt, but I don't want to lose that aussie rearend. All original from the factory.
Any suggestions?

You will need a new Dr Pinion and the only way you can get one is a new 9-bolt Gear Set. 
Reason: dr pinion and dr gears are matched sets and Only sold as sets.

And there in lies my problem. Am having problems locating a 9-bolt gear set for the aussie differential.
Any suggestions?
