what kind of trans do i have?
ok so i took out my old trans, and hav no idea wut it is, it should b a 700r4 however its looks really small and im told it could b a 200cc, any truth in that? ill try to get a pic up, also does anyone now where i can find a t5 trans?
the old trans a 3 spd with overdrive(i think i said that right, has 3 gears then a 4 one if its in overdrive) and it had lots of problems, the engine would stall when gon into drive/od but not reverse. in drive the first 2 gears where fine and had power, but not the upper ones, in od it waz the oppsite.

This is a little hard to read, but what year is your car and what engine? You should have had a 700R4 if it's 84 or newer.

Re: what kind of trans do i have?
The car came with a 700.
Not sure what you mean by "looks smaller".
Being a 6-cyl car, it's highly doubtful it's ever been swapped for anything else.
A 200C has no overdrive.
Post a pic. Or, go here http://www.bulkpart.com/Merchant2/me...General-Motors and match up your pan to whichever one. That's positive identification.

Re: what kind of trans do i have?
Probably because of where it bolts to the engine. You have a GM metric bellhousing pattern instead of the larger Chevy V8 design.
