Not going into Overdrive?

Hi, I have a 700-R4 behind my 305, and I just took her up on the freeway, and I'm pretty sure the trans wasn't kicking into 4th gear.

I was driving about 80 the entire way - at 3000-3500 RPM. That seems a bit high to be in overdrive.

Is this normal OD RPM (Don't think so...) and what could be causing the trans not to hit OD, if it is, in fact, not.

A quick check on the OD without high speed. At 40 mph you should have 1000 RPMs on the tach while in OD>
