Labor Cost?

Did search but everyone seems to be doing there own work. What labor cost would I expect to pay to convert my TH400 to a T56 5 or 6 speed? How many hours approx. would it take?

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
Re: Labor Cost?

It took me about 16 hours total, after I had accumulated all the parts. Keep in mind that I started out with a T-5 car, and I knew what I was doing. (hahaha)

At $75/hr, a typicalish shop rate, that comes out to $1200.

Given that you have a Turbo 400, there's EVEN MORE that will have to be changed, FAR more, than in my case. Various mods will have to be un-modded, and then different mods added on top of those.

This is not something you pay somebody to do for you. Unless you're literally made out of money. This is a hobby. It is for participants.

Thanks for the reply! Not something I would do my self but it would be fun to have the 6-speed. It's a real joy to shift. I priced out a new Tremec T56 6-speed roughly $2-$2300 (I don't want or like used). So roughly about 4k is my guess to have it done for me. I'm not made of money for sure, but if I want it and I can afford it, and can't do it myself the right way, or don't have time, I'll pay to have it done. It would be really fun to drive and you only live once and the car will be with me till I die and get buried in it.
