Speedo gear help?
So, I'm trying to help get a friends car moving. 82 TA. Some local guys swapped out the stock 200c for a th350 a couple weeks ago and now we're just trying to figure out the speedo gear situation. I can't tell what color the gear is inside the trans to be able to figure out (without just guessing) what gear to pair with it so we can order it. The car has close enough to stock height tires and a 2.93 rear end ratio. Looks like we need the gear and bullet/sleeve thing it sits in.
Here's a picture.

If that doesn't work for you. Check out this thread.

The owner of the trans is still using the one that came out so that's a no go. Any help would be awesome.

Re: Speedo gear help?
I made up a spreadsheet that'll probably help you out
https://webdisk.ucalgary.ca/~jmknopp...eed%20calc.xls
Right click and save as, it's an excel file. Pretty neat, comes with charts to show your speed @ RPM based on gearing as well.
He'll need to find out what gear is in the tranny. I think mine is a tealish blue, and has 7 teeth. I'm sure the teeth->colors are listed somewhere.
There's a really good website you can order them from (if your local stealership is incompetent and can't get it for you), but I forget the link right now...
something along the lines of thetrannyshop.com or something

Re: Speedo gear help?
That's our biggest problem, figuring out what gear is in the trans. Was hoping someone could help identifying it with the picture. I'm 30-40 miles away from him so I can't just drop by.

Ah, when I viewed this at work there was no picture, stupid company blocks certain websites and weblinks. I just thought you were crazy for forgetting to post the picture.
I have that exact same drive gear, I believe it's the 7 tooth. Is that what I put in my spreadsheet? I designed it around my setup.
