Re: differential rebuild

Post up the numbers. As far as I (we?) know the Auburns have non-replaceable clutch packs, in that Auburn does not make/sell replacement clutch packs.
Lets see what numbers you have, you've piqued my curiosity.

Re: differential rebuild

Huh, scoggin dickey showed nothing for it.
A quick google showed
http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/swit...ier-77303.html
Which leads me to believe it's a clutch pack for a Gov-lock (???). That makes no sense, so I'm not sure what to make of those part numbers.

Either way, if you have a typical stock Auburn diff, the fact remains that I have yet to hear of anyone who has successfully rebuilt one, with new clutch packs purchased from... (nowhere).

Sidenote - that site I linked to has a big add about "Powermelissa", that one *girl* member that was on here once upon a time bs'ing about her LSX powered Mustang. Apparently a "stealth" marketer for different companies. Interesting info.

Re: differential rebuild

Last time I called Auburn THEMSELVES looking for parts for about a 96 or 97 one (after I couldn't get them from GM), it turned out they were already discontinued. That would have been in about 2003 or 4.

If 97 ones were discontinued ALREADY, what reasonable guess might one make about 87 ones? Hmmmmm....

I will never buy another Auburn product as long as I live. Anybody that does business like that, deserves to go OUT of business. They sure as hell don't deserve MY money.

Currently I have this Eaton in my car. http://store.summitracing.com/partde...%2D19599%2D010

Re: differential rebuild

I don't think GM ever offered service parts for the Auburn, just complete cases and planets.
