looking for a few opinions
I've got a 86 camaro that I am just did a 350 swap with some mild power and 5 speed. currently have a one wheel wonder and am currently very sick of it. anything past 1/2 throttle and that wheel just spins, and this is with some 12 inch tires (crappy tires but still 12in wide) How much of a difference does it make with handling if i go the poor man's posi route untill i have the time and money to get a real posi unit? Im sure the rear could use some new lube anyway, but is the difference significant enough that i would be better off waiting vs. welding the spider gears together?
Also the crappy 12in tires are gone got some iroc's with decent tires on em.
thanks in advance.

If you plan on driving in a straight line and only a straight line weld the spider gears. If not wait. I bought a GM govloc posi unit off of ebay for $200.00 and got new gears for $170.00 and i knew a guy who knew how to put them in so i got a deal there. Id definately wait because especially with 12" tires it will be a squealin pain in the **** if you ever try to turn.

Re: looking for a few opinions
just watch out with a used posi... if its rebuilt by someone who regularly rebuilds them and they have documentation of everything that was replaced your probably good to go (thats what i did). of course the best route would be eaton or detroit tru-trac if you have the money but those are usually pretty ridiculously pricy. A used non-rebuilt can really bite you quick especially if you play with yours like i do mine!

Thanks for the input guys, all my friends were telling me to weld the spider gears but I think it was just so they could laugh at me whenever i tried turning... glad I asked first!
