4th gen rear owners need help
I am thinking about buying a 4th rear and everything in it has been beefed up all ready axles,posi,3.73 gear, gridle cover. My only question is I have drum brakes right now on my rear will these change over to a 4th gen without any problems becausr the new rear has no brakes.

Re: 4th gen rear owners need help
The flange where it all mounts to is COMPLETELY different.
It's POSSIBLE to modify a drum rear to accept discs, because that involves cutting metal off and drilling holes. It is NOT POSSIBLE to go the other way, because there's nothing you can feed the metal to make it grow.
Best thing to do is to simply hit the boneyard, find a 4th gen, and strip its rear brakes. Kind of a no-brainer really. A whole lot smarter of an idea than downgrading to drums.
