ive been looking into both the hurst dual gate shifter and the B&M megashifter. now i was thinking, my transmission had a shift kit installed when it was rebuilt. so would these shifters really make a difference. Or would i just be throwing money out there that i could use for something better. Please let me know. i have a list of things i want to do. so i would like to plan money wise for these.

The only difference would be the fact that you can manually shift ( if tranny is set up to do so) and not worry about over shifting.

The "dual gate" is CRAP. It's the same thing as the old "his & hers" shifter from 60s muscle cars. Virtually everybody I know, has gone AT LEAST one gear too far, in the excitment of the heat of battle; which isn't a real good thing when it goes from 2 to N at WOT.

All a shifter does, is put the trans in P, D, R, etc. So, does it???

In most cases, I doubt it. Replacing the stock cable, if it's worn out, is usually entirely enough "difference", from a functional standpoint.
