I have an artcarr performance trans (seems to be from a corvette) that is supposidly new (ebay) and installed in my 89 iroc. The trans goes into forward rev neutral fine but after driving about 300 yards i loose everything untile i shut off the engine let it sit for a min or so then it has all gears again then loses them again and so on and so forth any advise would be helpfull

 

did u put fluid in it? sounds like its overheating super-quick.

 

a new filter and fluid are in the trans. engine ran for at most 5 min when this happened

 

What do you have for a cooler?

i understand where u are going but i dont understand how the trany heated up that quickly

 

does it make any weird sounds or noises? did u put it in? did u make sure everything was fastened tightly and that you put trans fluid in the torque converter, and did u make sure the torque converter was installed properly?

I think I know what is wrong with your Trans who ever you bought it from cooked it (overheated it big time ) so when the temps get up inside of it the clutches slpig big time and probley the planetry gear are also shot does it wine after a few seconds and also when it is not working after the 300 yards you can throws it in any gear but park and nothing happens if you it was likei said cooked ( happened to my friend with the car i got now ) what it is the person who had it before you ran it way to long low i mean LOW on trans fluid as in almsot none on stick you need it rebuilt sorry
