SOMETHINGS WHINING
I have a 82 firebird with a 305, borg-warner 4-speed manual trans I think its a T-10 or a M24.
the car has a really loud whine when driving no matter what gear your in accept 3rd seems to make more noise that any other gear. the whine dies down when you let off but as soon as you step on the gas again it comes back
Has anyone had this problem?

Re: SOMETHINGS WHINING
Does it vary with speed? It sounds like a rear end noise to me based on the info given. If it varies a lot or disappears with changes in accel/decel it's gotta be rear end or trans.

It dosent really vary with speed I think 1st is the only gear it dosent do it in.
I just changed the rear end today so I dont thinks its that. but the the whine is so loud you can barely hear inside the car.

Re: SOMETHINGS WHINING
not really. i mean over the counter "engine/tranny fixers" from a local auto parts dealer really dont do anything. yur best bet, if u want to make it last is to just take it easy until u can afford to upgrade.
