Final problem: Shift linkage.

So my 1992 RS had the ole 700r4, and I just put a th350 in it. The problem is, that I'm having some serious problems with the shift linkage. It's slipping, and it just doesn't bolt up right. Sometimes it won't go into park all the way, and I think I broke it ****ing with it because I shift back to 1, and it's still in park. Doesn't move underneath. Should I be alright just going to a scrap yard and getting the linkage for an 82 camaro or something? Also i wasn't able to find any adjustable ones online to fit my application. Any suggestion would be great.

Re: Final problem: Shift linkage.

did you reuse the 700r crossmember?i think i read somewhere that it wont work with the th350,also i think the shifter linkage bracket is slightly different than the 700r bracket,so it would be best to find the crossmember and bracket for a th350,as for the shifter cable did you make sure it was locked into the bracket,i had a similar problem with mine because i didnt lock it into place and i ended up breaking 3 cables before i figured it out ,im leanin toward that being your problem because i had that same problem with it slipping i could shift it into any gear but when i went to put it back into park the cable would slip off the bracket,i hope this helps you out

Re: Final problem: Shift linkage.

I'm using a spohn crossmember and traction bar, and yeah it's locked into the bracket but for some reason it's slipping back and forth in the bracket.
