Rear End Q's

ok first i off i have a stock Rear right now (lb9 camaro). what is the length of it? Because i bought an corporate 8.5" out of a 77 Nova are the wheel bases close enough to just bolt up so i just have to relocate the sping pads? or do i even have to do that? WHat all do i have to do to get this 8.5" into my 3rd gen IROC?

Did you ask this question somewhere else? Sounds familiar.

Two words: "Torque arm". 3rd gen f-body has it, '77 Nova don't.

Two more words: "Coil springs". See sentence above.

Since this isn't an Engine Swap topic, moving to Transmission Drivetrain.

Re: Rear End Q's

Torque arm mount, shock and lower control arm mounts, coil spring mounts, panhard bar mount. Third gen diffs have them. First and second gens don't.

Although some have done a conversion to get a 8.5 under a third gen, it's not a cheap or easy swap without doing a lot of fabrication work.
