I can get the used t5 cheaper then anything and have all the parts to do it myself.

But would it be crappy to have a 305tbi 5speed with 2.73's?

I guess it would get decent gas mileage. It's hard to say for me automatics are nice but manuals can be fun.

 

IMHO 700R4 to a T5 is hardly an upgrade......but how about a t56 and then change ur rear to like a 373 and have some reall fun....plus that double overdrive is awsome for milage...... if u want a t56 my buddy has one up 4 sale i think he wants 700 obo... its from a 95 ta i believe....

 

I was going to say the same thing about the upgrade part. Banging gears is where its at, 2.73's wouldn't be that bad, now t56 and 2.73s is a totally different story but t5 would be ok.

 

I love the idea of having a 5speed to.

I like the automatic but when I can get it all for around 300$ full conversion.....not to bad.

I don't think I will ever get down on it hard....

My buddy has a 88 2.8 with a 5speed yeah it's just a 2.8 but i've seen him abuse and abuse the crap out of that t5 and it has yet to mess up.

Anyone know a good page with a conversion walkthrough on it my friend helping has done it before but I want to get another opinion.
