Okay. I just got a used BM megashifter for the 82-92 from a guy on nastyz28. Its an older model. I tightened up some bolts and its alot tighter now but still some play in the shifter when Im not pulling on the trigger

Also, is it supposed to be easy to shift directly from drive to neutral without going all the way to reverse or park, because it seems like I have to shift slowly from drive to neutral or Ill slam all the way to park.
There are a 1, 2, and 3 on the shifter display but It wont shift into that poition. Why would they put the numbers on there then?
Guy didnt have the BM red shifter cable so he said he made a bracket that you can use an oem style cable. Anyone ever done this?

I was wondering if I can get a full size scan of the cutout template that comes with these

What about the play in the shifter?

Figured out the shifting from drive and through the lower gears. Now I get what "ratcheting" means

 

Anyone know where I can find the boot and cable for cheap?
