3.73..to much for 305tpi

well i heard that the tpi is more restrictive on a 350 than(wich makes sense..since you feeding more cubes)...than on a 305 ci motor

i also heard that doing slp intake runners and such dont do much for a stock 305 even with headers

so my question is does the TPI on a stock 305ci motor(with headers) flow good enuff CFM to have 3.73 gears

i know that 3.73 are to much for a 350..but what about a 305(with headers)?

Re: 3.73..to much for 305tpi

well, it all depends on what you are doing with your car, my TPI runs out of steam at about 5000 RPMs. in the eighth mile with 245/50R16s on the back it runs through the traps at about 6700 in second gear (stock tach), way past the power band but its the only way it will run semi consistent. on the street i love them, you can get out into traffic pretty easily and its really fun to drive. the 3.42s were fine too, but i figured while i had the rear end opened up i might as well put in the other gears too.
