i want to install a 4th gen rear end into my 88 IROC. i know that they bolt up the same, but i'm concerned about it being wider. how does that extra 4 inches affect the wheels? am i going to have to get aftermarket wheels with a different offset to make this work? or will the stock 16 inch iroc wheels work without rubbing on the quarter panel?

 

Yes. You can run the stock rear offset wheels, despite what some people will try to tell you otherwise.

The tires WILL fit and WILL NOT stick out.

 

i have a 4th gen rear with te factory IROC wheels(used to have an '87) that has been lowered 1.5 inches. i rub on hard bumps but that is it.

It also depends a little on the year 4th gen rear. 93-97 are just slightly wider than the 98-02.

Hey EROC88, here is a pic of what it will look like on your car since, judging from your avatar it looks like you have the same car as mine lol. Do you have black interior with silver and yellow body stripes?

 

i honestly can't think of what color my stripes are! but i know they aren't yellow. and my interior used to be gray, now its black leather from a 4th gen.

anyways, i've settled my problem- i think the wheels sticking out looks stupid, so im just gonna get a 3rd gen 10 bolt. thanks for you input everybody!
