Its time to get a tranny for the GTA. I bought the Kit from Hawks to change my car over to manual. After bulding the engine..I thought Id go with a TH400 and a gearvendors 3500 stall/trans break. Well I dont know if I really like Gear Vendors and what Iv heard. All the bottons..na not for me. Then I was like well maybe a 4l80e or a 60e idk with a stall and transbreak...Then Today Im thinking I have a lot of the stuff to make it a 5 speed why not just ordr the TK0. Its going behinde a 500 Horse Smallblock and will have some Nitrous on it. 3:70s iwth a 255/50/16 tire. I want to be able to enjoy the car. If I wanna go to the track and still cruse at 65 MPH there and back and not turn 10,000 rpms ya know..And if Im running down the road and a buddy pulls up in town..smoke his ***. But if I go with a manual is the clutch going to wear my leg out if its stop go stop go. Iv drove newer WS6s with the 6 speed and it wasnt bad but IDK what its like with more power..What is everyones oppinion on this? Nees some Help soon!!

 

my motor puts out 501 horse and 520 fl/lbs to the flywheel, im running the tko600 and a zoom kevler clutch and the pedal feel is stock. No leg straining at all and it holds just fine. No Nitrous though.

 

Thats waht Im leaning too...How hard is it to change it to a 5 speed..I have no motor/ No Interior Fenders nothing..Iv got the kit..

 

if the motor is out of the car then its the perfect time to do it. the hardest part i found was swapping out the pedals, its a little tight in there.

after that its all bolt on parts, and cutting 2 holes, one for the master and 1 for the shifter. you can even stab the motor and trans in in one piece, its very tight but its do able with 2 people and a hoist.

 

I was going to use a Hydraboost system..big cam..no breaks....will that effect anything or be in the way?

 

how "big" is the cam? are you sure you wont have brakes?

i dont think the hydroboost will affect anything, its alot smaller that the stock booster setup, just some more hoses, i think you will be fine in that respect

 

630 Lift..I had an issue with the 355 and it has a 500 lift in it..I dont want a canister..Has anyone had good luck with a GearVendors..seems like a lot of hassle to drive and enjoy...
