Alright here's the situation. I have an 86 iroc with a 350 swap on a 700r4. my original problem was i could only go into first and reverse. after looking on the forums i found people had the same issue i had (only had reverse and first) so i temporarily replaced the governor with an 8 dollar junk yard governor i got out of another 86 with a carbed 305.
Now it shifts out of first into second like it used to, has a slight slip when it goes into drive and won't go into overdrive at all. now my question is would this be due to the governor or do you think it is something else? thanks for your time!

note: the tv cable is at the proper adjustment, and i've even tried other adjustments and there is no change.

before giving up on the tranny all together...service it completely ( if you havent already), clean out all the ports in the tranny, and then give it some time to break in....
