T56 inconsistant idle?

Engine: 355 T.P.I.
Transmission: t56
Axle/Gears: gm 10 bolt, 3.90 gears
T56 inconsistant idle?
someone said that after doing an auto to manual swap the car might not idle right due to the wiring from the shifter and the car thinking that its always in gear. is this true? if so what do you to fix it?
of the 6 wires on the auto shifter, everyone says to leave the last two alone, and just not let them come in contact with each other. so does doing this hurt the idle?

my car had a horrible idle before I hooked the vss back up, but the idle was still weird, replaced the maf and all is good.
As for your question about the shifter wires, idk I just left them alone.
