T-56 SWAP simplified

Hello,

I was bored at work on a Sunday so I took the time to simplify the 700R4 to T-56 swap. Thanks to all who's info I used. I appologize for missing two GM part numbers, but as I get them I will add them. Hope this helps.

Re: T-56 SWAP simplified

Im looking in to what its going to take to swap a T56 into my 81 Trans-AM. I know ill have to get another BOP bellhouseing for about $400 (mine uses linkage type). What I'd like to know is will it bolt to my tranmission support with only another mount or will there need to be serious mods for this and will my fly wheel and pilot bearing still work? Are there junker swap parts anyone knows of I might can use?

Am running a 76' 455 HO 30 over (performer intake, 468/472 comp cam, mallory unilight, and stock heads) and a Borg Warner Supter T10 4 speed with Hurst shift kit.

Side note my 4spd's 1st gear is down and toward me rather than strait up and right as I normaly see, Is this normal for a Pontiac?
