Detent cable adustment

Loking at this... https://www.thirdgen.org/detent... Anybody got a pic of the TPI setup? I uderstand we have V6s here, but V8s are the majority. If a V6 pic was included, the V8 pic should be first, since it would be more common. TBI & TPI

I tried adjusting what I *think* is mine, but it takes like 50lbs of pressure to ALMOST press in! my thumb hurts now

Doesn't matter what setup it is, the cables all look the same. Yes, the button is hard to push in. Eat your spinach. ;-) The good news is you don't have to push it in far.

Re: Detent cable adustment

Well...The arrow 'B' looks like it is pointing to a bolt head. My tab is a 'D' shaped goldish thingie, in a black plastic housing, on the opposite side. It wouldn't possibly be identified from the angle in that pic...the passenger side.

As for the difficulty level of 1 & only needing 2 hands & a brain...What if your missing 1 of the 3? C-clamp!

I used a small C-clamp to press in my tab, but then the shaft wouldn't press in. Released a little C-clamp pressure & the shaft slid right in. Used a screwdriver to prop in it place, while I released the C-clamp. Turned the throttle...click, click, click, click...I'll test it out tomorrow. The car is on ramps right now, & I wanna get under it, but don't wana halfa put it back on my ramps.
