Pardon for asking, not a mechanical guy.....I have an 83 Grand Prix, with stock 2.41 gears. I wish to change my gears, possibly to a 3.23 or 3.42 posi, but was told I couldnt because my car doesnt have overdrive. I was told that probably when on the highway, my car would be winding to all hell. this sound right to you guys? Should I just stick with a lower gearset? Thanx in advance....

 

you won't have a problem with your engine turning at a unusually high rpm with the gears you mentioned.
