hello TGO memebers.

i just took my car to the race track.
ran a 15.4 with a 305 and a stock 700r4 using the manual shifting.

if you listen carefully it kind of sounds like a powerglide trans.
which it isnt.
just that my trans is cooked.

the car takes off nicely in first gear. second gear just makes noise until 4,500RPM, then at 5,200RPM i have to shift into 3rd, which does not engage.
so i shift it into Drive ... which still doesnt work... until i let off completely on the gas pedal...

now i know with a good working trans i could break the 15 second barrier. and possibly go into the 14s...

any suggestions on modifying a 700r4 that shifts nicely. and can hold power?

i want to keep the 700R4 unless some one has a better suggestion.
