will t-5 hold up?

Right now I have an '84 Z28 with the lg4 and
t-5. The 305 is starting to get tired (150,000 miles) and I was thinking of swapping in a 350, but keeping everything else the same. Will the stock t-5 hold up, or should I just look at another 305?
thanks,
kevin

The T-5 will hold up for a little while, depending on what 350 you get. If you are going to change your engine, definetly get a 350... its a waste of time to change to another 305. If anything, you should change to a 350, and then save up more money and then change the tranny to a T56. That would be ideal in my opinion. But in the long run, if you have a torquey motor in there, the T-5 wont hold up forever.

There are guys out there running 11's in camaro's with T-5's and I personally know a guy running 10's in a stang on a T-5. People say "they are living on borrowed time"...2 + years for both is alot of borrowed time if you ask me. I am currently building a 475-500hp small block, I am running a T-5 behind it...I will let you know
