Ok, I bought a T5 swap and want to get everything ready before it goes in. I have a cable driven T5 and an electronic speedo '91 GTA. Just wondering what I need to swap from the cable setup to the electronic? VSS? And how does one go about getting a part number for the VSS if thats what I need?

 

I'm unfamiliar with the 700R4 so take this info with a grain of salt. If the VSS on your auto is the same size, etc. as the T-5, simply remove the one in the manual and install the one from the auto. The stickies may provide more useful info.

I also need some info on this. I am putting in a t-5 with a cable speedo and my car has a vss and a 91 dash. How do I get my speedo to work?

 

I can tell you that you will need the speedo cable housing from a TH350 trans. The ones on the 700 R4's and 200 4R's are bigger. If you look above at the stickies it has a ton of info that may help you out about fixing a speedo setup to work. I was just checking into it myself since I will be going from my auto OD trans to a 5 speed. HTH

 

Get an electronic VSS from a 90-92 Camaro or Firebird T5 trans. Install that. Sell or trade someone the cable VSS.
