Axle/Gears: Auburn posi motive 4:10 Moser axles
No 3rd or overdrive

Well as you all know from my other thread my new rebuilt tranny from ebay does not work 3rd or overdrive i was just wondering what it could be before my brother got it apart.Soo lmk what you think and when its all done i will let you know who was right

Whoever rebuilt it did a ****-poor job. Losing 3rd and 4th gear is a very common problem for a 700R4, as the 3-4 clutches are the smallest and they get the most use.

Most likely you overheated the tranny, 700-R4's are known to hate heat. I have destroyed two 700-R4's in my truck by overheating them offroading..

I did not overheat it.My brother pulled out of driveway and went through the gears and it did not work.Also there is a temp gauge for the tranny
