Differential

My car makes a clunking noise sometimes when you put it in reverse or drive, but more noticeable in when it shifts into reverse. I replaced the torque arm bushing. While doing that me and my Dad started the car to see where the clunk is, the tranny is fine and the u joints looked good and the torque arm is now tight, but the clunk is in the differential, the car drives fine and only makes the noise when it is switched from forward to reverse or reverse to forward. Is it ok to just leave it until I found a posi differential to put in, I think it is just some looseness in the splines.
